Objective

  • The aim of MECS is to provide students a deep knowledge in Modeling and simulation as well as in fundamental applied sciences.
  • The MECS gives you the skills to deal with industrial and environmental problems by using numerical modelling techniques and selecting adequate software tools for solving experimental problems with specific applications.
  • The students will acquire skills and attitude needed to pursue a professional and academic career in research and engineering.
  • The MECS is supported by five departments of ULCO in Researchs.

The Master in Engineering of Complex Systems is supported by five departments of ULCO in Research :


  • LMPA, Department of Mathematics

  • LISC, Department of Computer Science

  • LOG, Department of Environnement and Geoscience

  • LPCA, Department of Physico-Chimestry

  • DSMM, Department of Dynamic Molucular Structure.

The Master Degree courses last 2 years, and the degree is awarded to students who have earned 120 credits (120 ECST). Every study programme sets an annual quota of places. Students that want to enrol in a


  • Master 1 Degree : The candidate must possess suitable skills with good level equivelent to Licence or Bachelor Science degree in Mathematics, Computer sciences, Physics, Mechanics or Automatics.

  • Master 2 Degree : Programmes may be open access with assessment of curricular requirements and personal competencies in Mathematics, Computer sciences, Physics, Mechanics or Automatics.
